Satin Dreams delivers a smooth, factory-like finish on furniture, cabinets, and trim — without primer, without fumes, and without clearing the house. The self-leveling formula means brush strokes disappear whether you're rolling, brushing, or spraying.

Prep your surface
Clean off dust, grease, and wax. Lightly sand glossy or sealed areas with 220-320 grit. Wipe away all sanding dust before painting.
10 minApply first coat
Apply a thin, even coat with a synthetic brush, foam roller, or HVLP sprayer. Work in the direction of the grain. Two coats give full coverage on most colors.
20-40 minDry, sand, second coat
Recoat in 2-4 hours. Lightly sand with 320-400 grit between coats for an ultra-smooth finish. Allow 7 days to fully cure before heavy use.

Do I really not need primer?
On most surfaces, yes. Satin Dreams is self-priming on previously painted wood, MDF, and lightly sanded surfaces. For raw bare wood, laminate, or high-gloss finishes, a bonding primer will improve adhesion significantly.
How many coats do I need for full coverage?
Most projects need 2 coats. High-contrast color changes (e.g. painting over black or going from dark to light) may need 3. Thinner coats and more coats always beats one thick coat for a smooth result.
Can I spray it with an HVLP?
Yes. Satin Dreams sprays beautifully. Start unthinned; if your sprayer needs it, add 5-10% water. Recommended tip size: HVLP 1.8-2.5mm, Airless 208-310. Always strain paint before loading the cup.
How does the color look in different lighting?
Paint colors shift significantly between natural daylight, warm bulbs, and evening light. We recommend ordering a quart and testing on an inconspicuous area before committing to a full project.
Is it safe for indoor use around kids and pets?
Yes. Satin Dreams is water-based, ultra-low VOC, and contains no NMP or methylene chloride. We still recommend keeping children and pets out of the immediate work area during application and until the paint is fully dry.
How durable is the finish once cured?
After 7 days of full cure, the satin finish is washable and resistant to daily wear. For high-traffic surfaces like tabletops, we recommend sealing with GreenEZ Furniture Shield for added water and scratch protection.
